Outcast
The first official photos are our from Cinemax’s upcoming television series “Outcast” based on the Robert Kirkman comic of the same name. Patrick Fugit stars in the series about a young man who teams with a reverend (Philip Glenister) to find answers about why he has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Adam Wingard (“The Guest,” “You’re Next”) directs from a script by Kirkman. [Source: MStarz]
Rectify
On the eve of its third season premiere, SundanceTV has ordered a fourth season of its little seen but critical favorite “Rectify” to air next year. The number of episodes has yet to be determined.
Aden Young stars as Daniel Holden, a man who returns to his small Georgia hometown after two decades on death row. The second season averaged a mere 308,000 viewers in Live+7 ratings and remains the network’s lone fully owned scripted program. [Source: The Live Feed]
Sand
Imperative Entertainment has optioned the rights to Hugh Howey’s novel “Sand” with the intent of turning it into a scripted television series.
The story is set in a lawless dystopian world of howling winds and shifting dunes, and tells of a family of sand divers – people who use wetsuit-like technology to dive deep beneath the desert to retrieve mysterious and valuable relics that help them survive. [Source: Heat Vision]
TV Promos
New promos have been unleashed for two major upcoming series – the first teaser for Showtime’s “Billions” starring Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti, and a new trailer for NBC’s “Blindspot” starring “Thor” actress Jamie Alexander. Both are due to premiere sometime this Fall.
