Epix has announced a June 14th premiere day for the new six-part documentary series “Helter Skelter” which will center on the infamous Manson Family led by cult leader and serial killer Charles Manson. Tinsletown
Spectrum Originals is developing “Tinseltown,” a murder mystery period drama TV series based on William J Mann’s 2014 novel. “Hellcats” creator Kevin Murphy are executive producing and co-writing the project which uses the real-life unsolved murder of William Desmond Taylor, president of the Motion Picture Directors Association, as the basis for the series.
Set in Hollywood at the height of the silent film era, the story follows four pioneer women filmmakers whose lives and livelihoods were threatened by a scandalous murder and the brutal patriarchy of Hollywood’s nascent studio system. [Source: Deadline]
The Stranger
Quibi has set an April 13th launch for Veena Sud’s rideshare-themed thriller “The Stranger” and unleashed its first trailer below. That series follows a young rideshare driver’s terrifying encounter with a passenger in the Hollywood Hills. Maika Monroe plays the driver, Dane DeHaan the passenger and Avan Jogia as a clerk who helps the driver out.
After Life
Netflix has released the trailer for the second season of Ricky Gervais’ comedy series “After Life” which premieres April 24th. Ini the new episodoes Tony (Gervais) tries to become a better friend to those who have helped him through his grieving process.
