Netflix
Netflix has announced six new natural history documentary series on the way, starting with the Morgan Freeman-narrated six-episode “Our Universe” on November 22nd. That offers an expansive look into the universe’s origins.

Also on the list is the four-episode “Our Planet II” with historian David Attenborough is once again slated to narrate the new series, which arrives in 2023. The four others are the Freeman-narrated “Life on Our Planet” later in 2023, “Our Oceans” and “Our Living World” in 2024 and “Our Water World” in 2025. [Source: Netflix]

Dead Boy Detectives
Caitlin Reilly (“Hacks”) and Max Jenkins (“Dead to Me”) have scored recurring roles as Litty and Kingham, respectively, in HBO Max’s eight-episode DC comics-inspired “Dead Boy Detectives” series. The pair are described as “tiny foul-mouthed dandelion sprites” who are a foil for the main characters.

The series explores loss, grief, and death through the lens of Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), two dead British teenagers, and their very alive friend, Crystal Palace (Kassius Nelson). [Source: Variety]

Three Pines
Amazon Prime Video has announced a December 2nd premiere date and released the full trailer for its Amazon Original scripted series “Three Pines” starring Alfred Molina as Chief Inspector Gamache. Double episodes will be released weekly through December 23rd.

Based on Louise Penny’s novel, the eight-episode drama series follows Gamache as he investigates cases that happen beneath the idyllic surface of the Quebec village of Three Pines, finding long-buried secrets while facing a few of his own ghosts.

Mayor of Kingstown
Paramount+ has set a January 15th premiere date for the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s “Mayor of Kingstown” series starring Jeremy Renner, Hugh Dillon, Dianne Wiest, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird and Aidan Gillen.

The series follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. A first-look trailer for the new run below teases that it picks up from the prison riot of the first season finale.
