Showtime has made a straight-to-series order of the ten-episode half-hour comedy “Flatbush Misdemeanors” from creators and writers Kevin Iso and Dan Perlman – adapting their digital series of the same name.

The story follows characters struggling to thrive in their new surroundings in the brash environment of Flatbush, Brooklyn as two longtime friends look to climb out of their heads and connect with others. [Source: Variety]

The Essex Serpent
Keira Knightley has left the Apple TV+ series “The Essex Serpent” due to family reasons. A four-and-a-half month shoot on the series was due to start in six weeks and is now on hiatus. Based on a 2016 novel by Sarah Perry, the story follows a newly widowed woman who, having escaped an abusive marriage, relocates from Victorian London to a small village in the county of Essex. She is intrigued by a local superstition that a mythical creature known as the Essex Serpent has returned to the area. [Source: Variety]

Maid
Billy Burke (“Zoo,” “Revolution”) is set to co-star opposite Margaret Qualley and Andie MacDowell in Netflix’s dramedy series “Maid” based on Stephanie Land’s bestselling memoir.

Qualley plays a single mother who turns to housekeeping to – barely – make ends meet as she battles against poverty, homelessness, and bureaucracy. Burke will play Han, her contractor father who found sobriety through religion and is also the ex-husband of Paula (MacDowell) from whom he is very estranged. Nick Robinson, Anika Noni Rose and Tracy Vilar also star. [Source: Deadline]
