Mythic Quest
Apple TV+ has announced that its workplace comedy “Mythic Quest” will be getting a special bonus season episode entitled “Everlight” premiering April 16th – several weeks ahead of the second season premiere on May 7th. Anthony Hopkins lends his voice to the episode.
This episode “addresses the practical and emotional difficulties of returning to normalcy” and finds the team behind the biggest multiplayer video game of all-time returning to the office for their annual Everlight party, with Poppy and Ian rigging a LARP tournament in an underdog’s favour. Minx
HBO Max has handed out a ten-episode series order for the half-hour comedy “Minx” set in 1970s Los Angeles. Ophelia Lovibond plays an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher to create the first erotic magazine for women.
Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Michael Angarano, and Oscar Montoya co-star while Ellen Rapoport created the series and will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Paul Feig, Dan Magnante and Rachel Lee Goldenberg will executive produce. [Source: Variety]
Summer of 69
3000 Pictures has optioned the rights to Elin Hilderbrand’s novel “Summer of ’69” with plans to adapt as a limited series. Set in Nantucket, this follows the lives of multiple generations of the Levin family as their lives intersect with the historical events of the time, including the Vietnam War and the space race. Chucky
Syfy has released a brief teaser for “Chucky,” the upcoming TV series continuation of the “Child’s Play” movies. Filming has just begun on the series which recently had Lexa Doig and Barbara Alyn Woods join the cast, while “Child’s Play 2” stars Alex Vincent and Christine Elise are also coming back. The show will premiere this Fall.
Pose
FX has released the first trailer for the third and final season of Ryan Murphy’s acclaimed series “Pose” which will premiere on May 2nd. This highlights the new obstacles that the House of Evangelista members must face as they try to fight for their legacy.
Spy City
AMC has premiered the trailer for “Spy City,” William Boyd’s 1960s Berlin set espionage thriller about an English spy (Dominic Cooper) at the height of the Cold War. The Russians seemingly know vital state secrets, so he is tasked to find out the source of the information leak in a town full of his own kind. The six-episode series premieres on Thursday, April 15th.
