Netflix has canceled its very mixed reviewed “Messiah” series after one season with series star Wil Traval sharing the news on Instagram. Netflix reportedly did not feel confident producing a show that required so many international locations given the current state of things with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Michelle Monaghan played a CIA officer who uncovers information about a man (Mehdi Dehbi) gaining international attention through acts of public disruption. As he continues to cultivate followers who allege he’s performing miracles, the global media become increasingly beguiled by this charismatic figure. John Ortiz and Beau Bridges co-starred. The Mandalorian
Bill Burr will reprise his role as Imperial sharpshooter-turned-mercenary Mayfield in the second season of Disney+ series “The Mandalorian”. Mayfield worked with Mando on a job before ultimately betraying him. Gina Carano and Carl Weathers will also be reprising their roles in the second season which launches this October. Netflix has premiered the trailer for its new mockumentary comedy series “#blackAF” which hails from “black-ish” creator Kenya Barris. Barris and Rashida Jones play a fictional couple in the series about a family that much navigate success and explore the struggles of being unapologetically black and wealthy. Iman Benson, Genneya Walton, Scarlet Spencer, Justin Claiborne, Ravi Cabot-Conyers and Richard Gardenhire Jr. co-star in the series which launches April 17th.
Dirty John
USA Network has released the trailer for “Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story,” the second installment in the anthology series starring Amanda Peet and Christian Slater. Set in the 1960s-80s, Peet plays Southern Californian perfect wife Betty who is on the wild downward spiral of her marriage to Dan (Slater) in what Oprah Winfrey deemed one of ‘America’s messiest divorces’ before it ended in double homicide.
