The Mandalorian
Ming-Na Wen will reportedly reprise her role of ruthless mercenary Fennec Shand for the upcoming second season of “The Mandalorian” on Disney+. The “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” star has reportedly filmed scenes for the already finished filming new run.
The character was introduced in the fifth episode of the first season, only to be shot and left for dead by Toro Calican. Amysterious figure approach Shand’s lifeless body at the end, leading to speculation that she’s still alive. The new season is slated to premiere in October. [Source: That Hashtag Show]
The Smurfs
Actor Danny Goldman, best known as the voice of Brainy Smurf in classic animated series “The Smurfs,” has reportedly passed away. The 80-year-old Goldman had previously suffered from two strokes earlier this year, and reportedly died at his home on Sunday while in hospice – surrounded by family and friends. Goldman also starred in “Young Frankenstein,” “MASH,” “That Girl,” “The Good Life,” “Columbo,” “Baretta,” “Criminal Minds” and “Chico and the Man”. [Source: TMZ]
Good Boys and True
“Riverdale” showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is reportedly developing a drama based on his 2008 play “Good Boys and True” for Quibi, and he will co-write and executive produce the series alongside Greg Murray. The suspenseful drama follows six people drawn together by a disturbing videotape that surfaces on the campus of the elite preparatory academy St. Joe’s School for Boys in the Fall of 1988. The series explores class, sexuality and identity which explores the dark side of privilege. [Source: Variety]
Hightown
Starz has released the trailer for “Hightown,” a new drama series following the life of Jackie Quinones (Monica Raymund) – a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service agent in Cape Cod that discovers a murder victim on the beach one morning.
This sends her down a dark path, where she relies on sex with random people and alcohol to help numb the problems. But no matter how hard she tries to move on from the discovery, she is drawn back into the investigation, much to the chagrin of Sergeant Ray Abruzzo (James Badge Dale). Riley Voelkel, Shane Harper, Amaury Nolasco, Atkins Estimond, and Dohn Norwood co-star.
