The Man Who Fell To Earth
Clarke Peters (“Da 5 Bloods,” “The Wire”) has joined Showtime’s “The Man Who Fell To Earth” adaptation alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Naomie Harris and Jimmi Simpson. Filming begins in London later this spring for a 2022 debut.
Based on the Walter Tevis novel, the story will follow a new alien character (Ejiofor) who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future. Peters will play Josiah Falls, father of Justin Falls (Harris)]. [Source: Deadline]
The Hot Zone: Anthrax
“Veronica Mars” alum Enrico Colantoni is set to play former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani in an episode of “The Hot Zone: Anthrax” for National Geographic – the second season of their scientific thriller anthology series.
Tony Goldwyn and Daniel Dae Kim lead the cast of the new run focusing on the harrowing anthrax attacks of 2001. “Mindhunter” actor Morgan Kelly has also just joined the cast in a recurring role as an FBI agent. [Source: Deadline]
The First Wave
National Geographic Documentary Films has acquired Oscar-nominated director Matthew Heineman’s “The First Wave” with plans for a theatrical release via NEON later this year.
The feature presents a ground-level view inside a New York hospital amid the initial explosion of COVID-19 and the ‘first wave’ of the virus which consumed the city of New York from March through June 2020.
Wahl Street
HBO has released the trailer for the six-part documentary series “Wahl Street” which follows Mark Wahlberg as he tries to balance his busy schedule including filming, an ever-growing network of diverse businesses, and his production company which produces the series. “Wahl Street” arrives on April 15th.
