The Lincoln Lawyer
Marvel alum Cobie Smulders has joined the cast of Netflix’s legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer” for the show’s currently in production ten-episode fourth season.

Smulders will appear alongside Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson in the new season based on the Michael Connelly book “The Law of Innocence”. [Source: TV Line]

The Gotham Television Awards
The second annual Gotham Television Awards were handed out in New York City tonight with “The Pitt,” “The Studio” and “Adolescence” taking drama, comedy and limited series wins.

My Sad Dead
Netflix has officially announced “My Sad Dead,” a four-part horror drama miniseries from acclaimed Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín (“Spencer,” “Neruda,” “Jackie”). Filming begins at the end of June in Buenos Aires and Santiago, with Fabula and K&S Films (“The Eternaut”) producing.

Based on the short story of the same name by Argentine author Mariana Enríquez, the psychological and supernatural horror story about a 60-year-old female doctor who can communicate with the dead but avoids it.

When her young niece shows up, with the same ability but to a much more intense and dangerous degree, a disturbing chain of events begins. Mercedes Morán, Dolores Fonzi and Alejandra Flechner star. [Source: Variety]

The CW has announced that its sporting drama “All American” has been renewed for its eighth and final season of thirteen episodes which will air in 2026. The cancellation comes even as the series is the network’s top entertainment program in prime time in adults 18-49 and 25-54 demographics and the top series on The CW app. [Source: The CW]

Families Like Ours
Thomas Vinterberg’s Venice 2024 premiering mini-series “Families Like Ours” has been picked up by Netflix for the U.S. and will launch on the streamer on June 10th.

Set in a not-too-distant future, it follows events after rising water levels force Denmark to be evacuated. Those who can afford it leave, the less well-off depend on government-funded relocation to more challenging destinations. [Source:Deadline]
