Green Lantern
HBO Max’s “Green Lantern” TV series is reportedly looking at an April 12th start of filming date according to an ad found in Production List. Seth Grahame-Smith is showrunning and will write alongside Marc Guggenheim. Greg Berlanti is producing the ten-episode series. [Source: Coming Soon]

Black Spartacus
Mammoth Screen (“Poldark”) is developing a television drama based on the 18th Century slave uprising in Haiti and based on Sudhir Hazareesingh’s “Black Spartacus”. The story will be told through the eyes of Toussaint Louverture – a former slave who helped turn the tide against slavery internationally through his actions in Haiti. [Source: Deadline]

The First Lady
Dakota Fanning has joined Showtime’s anthology series “The First Lady”. The actress will play Susan Ford, the teenage daughter of former president Gerald Ford (Aaron Eckhart) and First Lady Betty Ford (Michelle Pfieffer), and will appear in six of the episodes.

The cast also includdes O-T Fagbenle and Viola Davis as Barack and Michelle Obama, while Gillian Anderson will play Eleanor Roosevelt. Judy Greer, Jayme Lawson, Kristine Froseth and Rhys Wakefield co-star and Susanne Bier will direct the entire first season. [Source: The Wrap]

Untitled Judo Champ Project
MGM/UA Television and Tadmor Entertainment are developing a scripted television series based on the lives of judo world champions – Iran’s Saeid Mollaei and Israel’s Sagi Muki.

The two companies have acquired the life rights to the duo and are working with the International Judo Federation to develop the series featuring exclusive footage of the athletes. A documentary about the pair is also in production. [Source: Deadline]

The Walking Dead
AMC has revealed a brief teaser for the eleventh and final season of “The Walking Dead” which will premiere this Summer on AMC. The Commonwealth will play a major role in the final episodes of the hit series.

In addition Michael James Shaw (“Blood & Treasure”) has signed on as a new series regular – the character of Mercer, who in the comics is a former Marine and the leader of the Commonwealth military.
