Lady in the Lake
Byron Bowers, Josiah Cross, Mike Epps, Noah Jupe and Pruitt Taylor Vince have joined Apple’s limited series adaptation of “Lady in the Lake” alongside Natalie Portman, Moses Ingram, Y’lan Noel, Mikey Madison and Brett Gelman.
Based on Laura Lippmanās novel set in 1960s Baltimore, an unsolved murder pushes a housewife and mother (Portman)to reinvent her life as an investigative journalist and sets her on a collision course with a hard-working woman (Ingram) juggling motherhood, multiple jobs and a passionate political commitment. Top Boy
Barry Keoghan and Brian Gleeson have joined the cast of the final season of Netflix crime drama hit “Top Boy” as shooting gets underway in London.
They join regular cast members Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson in the series set on a public housing estate in the East London borough of Hackney. [Source: Deadline]
Dalgliesh
British detective drama “Dalgliesh” has scored a second and third season order from Acorn TV and Channel 5. The second season consists of three adaptations of P.D. James novels spread across three two-part episodes (six eps in total).
“Death Of An Expert Witness,” “A Certain Justice” and “The Murder Room” will be the book adapted. Bertie Carvel (“Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell”) reprises his role as the enigmatic chief investigator with shooting underway in Northern Ireland ahead of a 2023 airing. [Source: Variety]
Joe Pera Talks With You
Adult Swim’s “Joe Pera Talks With You” has been cancelled after three seasons. The eleven-minute series launched in 2018 started as an animated short, followed by a live-action short. Its third season aired late last year.
Pera starred as a mild-mannered fictional version of himself, living in Michigan and teaching choir at a middle school as he talks to the audience, Mr. Rogers-style, about various topics. [Source: TV Line]

Disney+ has released the trailer for its new docuseries exploring the history of visual effects house Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). Through archival footage, the film explores both the early and more recent days of visual effects in films ranging from “Star Wars” to “The Abyss” to “Transformers”.
