Green Arrow
Stephen Amell has been cast as the DC Comics character Green Arrow in the CW drama pilot “Arrow” for Warner Bros. TV.
Amell will play Oliver Queen, a wealthy playboy and billionaire industrialist-turned-outspoken politician who fights crime using archery, martial arts and technology.
The buff Amell has served as a recurring actor on numerous shows including “Hung,” “Private Practive,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “90210” as well as being one of the finalists for the lead on “Spartacus”. [Source: Deadline]
Luck
HBO has renewed David Milch’s new gambling drama “Luck” for a second season, only two days after the series premiere.
Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte star in the series which will have a ten-episode second season, up from nine episodes for the first. The second season will premiere January 2013.
Though the premiere scored 3.3 million viewers over multiple airings combined, the 9 p.m. airing only averaged a disappointing 1.1 million. Reviews however were strong. [Source: The Live Feed]
Game Change
Speaking of HBO, their films division has released the new trailer for “Game Change”, the upcoming TV movie about the McCain/Palin campaign starring Ed Harris and Julianne Moore. It is scheduled to air next month.
