“Stranger Things” breakout Joe Keery, “Woke” lead Lamorne Morris and “Never Have I Ever” actress Richa Moorjani will join Juno Temple, Jon Hamm and Jennifer Jason Leigh in the fifth season of FX’s “Fargo” anthology series.
Set in 2019, the series answers the question: “when is a kidnapping not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?” Joe Keery will play Gator Tillman, Morris will play Witt Farr, and Moorjani will play Indira Olmstead. [Source: FX]
Q-Force
Netflix has officially cancelled its queer comedy animated series “Q-Force” after one season, the news coming nearly a year after the first season aired.
The series, which followed an undervalued group of LGBTQ+ superspies on personal and professional adventures, boasted a solid cast (Sean Hayes, Wanda Sykes, Gary Cole, David Harbour, Laurie Metcalf) but scored only soft reviews. [Source: Variety]
Book of Marlon
Marlon Wayans’ new comedy “Book of Marlon,” previously in development at HBO Max, has now moved over to Starz. Wayans is set to star, co-write and executive produce the project which Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin will serve as showrunners.
In the half-hour project, Wayans will play a fictionalized version of himself, exploring his professional life as a comedian and actor, as well as his personal life as he attempts to reconcile being a good person and loving father with being Marlon. [Source: Deadline]
Land of Women
Apple TV+ has handed out a series order for the six-episode dramedy series “Land of Women” starring Eva Longoria and Carmen Maura. The series will be shot in both English and Spanish.
Based on the novel by Sandra Barneda, the story follows a New Yorker whose life is upended when her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties. She and the rest of her family hide out in a small town in northern Spain’s wine region. Gossip spreads quickly and family secrets unravel. [Source: THR]
Will Trent
ABC has officially ordered the drama series “Will Trent”. The show will debut in early 2023 and is based on Karin Slaughter’s novel series.
Ramon RodrÃguez stars as Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Raised in an overwhelmed foster care system, he is determined to use his unique point of view to make sure no one is abandoned like he was. [Source: Variety]
