2021 Emmy Awards
Cedric the Entertainer has been set as the host of the 2021 Emmy Awards which will run at the Microsoft Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on September 19th. Nominations are set to be announced tomorrow morning.
The show will also feature a limited in-person audience of nominees and their guests after last year’s virtual show. That broadcast’s same producers and director will return. [Source: THR
I Love This For You
Showtime has picked up the half-hour comedy series “I Love This For You” based on former SNL alum Vanessa Bayer’s own story of overcoming childhood leukemia. Bayer co-created the series and will executive producer and star in it.
Molly Shannon will also star, while Cybill Shepherd has departed the project and will be recast. Jessi Klein will serve as showrunner and executive produce along with Michael Showalter. [Source: Variety]

The Fairly OddParents
Nickelodeon Studios has announced that production has begun in Los Angeles on the live-action series adaptation of animated series “The Fairly OddParents” for the Paramount+ service later this year.
Original voice cast members Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris will officially return to reprise their respective roles as the fan-favourite fairy godparents Wanda and Cosmo in a story picking up years later. [Source: Business Wire]
Gossip Girl
HBO Max has announced that the “Gossip Girl” reboot has become the streamer’s most-watched original series over the first weekend of availability. The first episode opened to viewers in 555,000 U.S. households over its first four days according to Samba TV. The remaining five episodes of Part One will drop weekly on HBO Max every Thursday.
