Echo
Marvel’s Disney+ series “Echo” has officially wrapped production with its star Alaqua Cox confirming on Instagram they’ve reached the end of the show’s filming. Marion Dayre serves as the lead writer.
The series sees Cox reprise her role as the perfect physical mimic Maya Lopez from “Hawkeye”. She’s joined by Vincent D’Onofrio, Charlie Cox, Zahn McClarnon, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, and Graham Greene. The series premieres next summer. [Source: Instagram]
Raymond and Ray
Apple TV+ feature “Raymond and Ray,” starring Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke, has settled on an October 21st release date on the streaming service. Maribel Verdu and Sophie Okonedo co-star.
Penned and directed by Rodrigo Garcia (“Albert Nobbs”), the film will follow the brothers who decide to take their grief for the death of the terrible father as a chance to fully reinvent themselves and escape his ever-present looming shadow. [Source: Apple]
Orphan Black: Echoes
Avan Jogia and Amanda Fix have been cast as leads in the spinoff series “Orphan Black: Echoes” at AMC. The pair will join Krysten Ritter in the series which is set in the same world as the Tatiana Maslany-led original.
Fix plays Jules, the reckless adopted teen daughter of wealthy parents who is on a journey of self-discovery. Jogia will play Jack, a former army medic, single father and boyfriend to Ritter’s Lucy. The series will premiere in 2023 on AMC. [Source: TV Insider]
The Morning Show
Nicole Beharie (“Sleepy Hollow,” “Shame) has been tapped as a new lead opposite Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in the third season of “The Morning Show” on Apple TV+.
Beharie will play Christina Hunter, a grounded, competitive and charismatic Millennial who is a new anchor on The Morning Show. She will be joined by Jon Hamm, as well as and the return of Julianna Margulies in the new run that is currently in production. [Source: Deadline]
The Power
Toni Collette and Josh Charles have signed on for roles in the Amazon series “The Power,” the pair replacing Leslie Mann and Tim Robbins, who were previously cast. Raelle Tucker has also joined as executive producer and showrunner.
In the series, teenage girls in the world suddenly and spontaneously develop the power to electrocute people at will, leading to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world. Collette will appear in the series regular role of Margot Cleary-Lopez, the mayor of Seattle. [Source: Variety]
