TV News: DuckTales, Impulse, Outsider, Westworld

DuckTales
Disney has announced an April 4th premiere date for the third season of its “DuckTales” reboot on Disney XD and DisneyNOW. Giancarlo Esposito, Selma Blair, Bebe Neuwirth, Doug Jones, Clancy Brown, Hugh Bonneville, James Marsters, Stephanie Beatriz, Tress MacNeille, Kristofer Hivju and Adam Pally all guest star this season.

The new episodes find the Duck family embarking on a globetrotting hunt for the world’s greatest lost artifacts, with a secret organization from Scrooge’s past, the Fiendish Organization for World Larceny (F.O.W.L.), trying to stop them at any cost. [Source: DisneyXD]

Impulse
YouTube has cancelled one of its few scripted dramas, the “Jumper” book series inspired “Impulse,” after two seasons. Those involved tried to find a new home for the teleporting-themed show but got no bites. That leaves “Cobra Kai” and “Liza on Demand” as the only scripted projects left on the service. The Outsider
The Stephen King-based mystery thriller series “The Outsider” has drawn more viewers than both “Watchmen” and “True Detective” for HBO over the first quarter of this year. The finale of the Cynthia Erivo and Ben Mendelsohn-led series was watched by 2.2 million viewers across all platforms – a one million viewer boost from the season premiere. The show averaged nine million viewers across all platforms – the best numbers for an HBO drama series launch since the debut run of “Westworld” in 2016. [Source: Variety]

Westworld
HBO’s sci-fi hit “Westworld” has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette that explores the new world of hosts and humans. Jonathan Nolan says that “if the trajectory of technological development continues, 30 years from now, what does that world look like?”. The new season returns on Sunday March 15th.
