TV News: Daredevil, Wipeout, Swords, Hanna

Actor Charlie Cox has shot down rumors that he’s set to reprise the role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil from the cancelled Netflix series in the upcoming third “Spider-Man” film in the current iteration starring Tom Holland. Speaking with ComicBook.com, he says: “I hadn’t heard those rumors, but it’s certainly not with my Daredevil. I’m not involved in it. If that’s true, it’s not with me. Wipeout
TBS has announced that it has ordered twenty episodes of a revival of competition series “Wipeout” which previously aired for seven seasons on ABC. The obstacle course competition spawned various adaptations in more than 30 global territories such as Argentina, Australia and the UK.

The new “Wipeout” will feature new format twists and elements that will “push contestants’ athleticism and willpower to even greater extremes, all while delivering some pretty epic fails”. Each game has been broken up into three rounds and now features a three-stage, obstacle course. [Source: TV Line]

Crossing Swords
The voices of Nicholas Hoult, Luke Evans, Tara Strong, Wendi McClendon-Covey, Adam Pally, Tony Hale, Seth Green and more team up for “Crossing Swords,” a new adult animated comedy series from Hulu which hails from Robot Chicken‘s John Harvatine IV and Tom Root.

The story follows a good-hearted peasant who lands a coveted squire position at the royal castle however his dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when he learns his beloved kingdom is run by a hornet’s nest of horny monarchs, crooks, and charlatans. The entire series will be released on June 12th.

Hanna
Amazon’s TV series adaptation of Joe Wright’s 2011 thriller “Hanna” has released a trailer for its eight-episode second season arriving July 3rd with Dermot Mulroney set to play this season’s big villain – Utrax overseer John Carmichael.

In the series the young assassin evades the relentless pursuit of a sinister government agency and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is. This season sees her learning about the Utrax program which has produced a whole contingent of highly trained teenagers whose development is about to reach the lethal ‘second phase’. David Farr (“The Night Manager”) returns as writer and executive producer.
