Cruel Summer
Freeform has handed out a second season renewal for its breakout hit “Cruel Summer” which has become the cablers most-watched series ever and been a strong performer on Hulu. An episode count and return time frame for season two has yet to be determined.

Olivia Holt, Chiara Aurelia, Michael Landes, Froy Gutierrez, and Harley Quinn Smith star in the series created by Bert V. Royal, showrun by Tia Napolitano and executive produced by Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple. [Source: THR]

The Staircase
Dane DeHaan (“Lisey’s Story,” “A Cure for Wellness”) has joined the cast of HBO Max’s eight-episode series drama “The Staircase” based on the true-crime docuseries. Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Rosemarie DeWitt, Juliette Binoche, Parker Posey and Sophie Turner co-star.

“Christine” director Antonio Campos and writer Maggie Cohn explore the life of Michael Peterson (Firth), his sprawling North Carolina family and the suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen (Collette). DeHaan will play Clayton Peterson, Michael Peterson’s son. [Source: Deadline]

Central Park
Apple TV+ has premiered the full trailer for the second season of the adult-animated musical sitcom “Central Park” starring Kathryn Hahn, Daveed Diggs, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci, Leslie Odom Jr, Titus Burgess and more. In the new season, the Tillerman family continues to navigate living in and caring for the world’s most famous park. The new run kicks off on June 25th.
