BritBox says it is aiming to have the most ‘comprehensive’ collection of Agatha Christie adaptations in North America following a deal with the estate of the British author. The service will include the addition of seasons 9-12 of the David Suchet “Poirot” on top of the first eight which they already have.
There’s also newly restored HD versions of ITV’s “Marple” and “Partners In Crime” and telemovies like “The Seven Dials Mystery,” “Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?” and “The Secret Adversary”. The film adaptations of the novels will also be available in the coming months. [Source: Deadline]
Gangs of London
Gareth Evans’ mob drama “Gangs of London” has been the second-biggest original drama launch ever for broadcaster Sky Atlantic with a cumulative seven-day audience of 2.23 million. There have been more than 16.6 million downloads across the series so far. The series also scored glowing reviews in the British press at launch. [Source: Variety]
The CW
The CW president Mark Pedowitz has been asked about the future of the network’s pending pilots and says such potential series as “The Green Arrow & the Canaries” and the untitled “The 100” prequel are still very much alive and will likely get series orders:
Pedowitz says: “They are very much in active discussions to see what we can do. I’ve had many discussions with Warner Bros, we have a strategy involved — hopefully we can pull it off.” [Source: Deadline]
The Sleepers
HBO Europe has released one final trailer for the six-part espionage drama “The Sleepers” which will premiere in the U.S. on Monday, May 18th. It will also be available on HBO via HBO Max from May 27th.
The incredible story takes place at the end of 1989 in Czechoslovakia when the Soviet Empire was crumbling as four decades of Moscow’s dominance in the country came to an end,. An ordinary woman gets caught between the two worlds of State Security and the dissidents.
