My Dad the Bounty Hunter
Netflix has greenlit “Hair Love” director Everett Downing and artist Patrick Harpin’s new animated action-comedy series “My Dad the Bounty Hunter”. Russell Hornsby, Yvonne Orji, Priah Ferguson, Yvette Nicole Brown, Rob Riggle, Leslie Uggams, JeCobi Swain and and Jim Rash provide the voices with Dwarf Animation Studio doing animation.
The series follows the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy whose family on Earth has no idea what he does for a living. When his two kids accidentally hitch a ride into outer space and crash his latest mission, they discover that their average Dad’s job is anything but boring. [Source: The Wrap]
The Baby-Sitters Club
Netflix has renewed its young adult series “The Baby-Sitters Club” for a second season. The pickup order arrives nearly four months after the series debuted on the streamer in July, and the new run will premiere in 2021. Rachel Shukert (“GLOW”) will continue as showrunner in season two with all the key cast returning. [Source: Twitter]
In Treatment
HBO has greenlit a fourth season of the reimagined drama series “In Treatment” with Uzo Aduba (“Orange Is the New Black”) set to star. The new take focuses on a diverse trio of patients in session with the observant, empathetic Dr. Brooke Lawrence (Aduba) while she wrestles with her own issues. Two Weeks to Live
HBO Max has picked up the UK dark comedy series “Two Weeks to Live” and has set a November 5th launch for the six part series starring “Game of Thrones” alum Maisie Williams.
Williams plays a young woman who has lived in seclusion for years with her doomsday-prepping mother, but has escaped and embarks on an adventure that involves revenge, romance, and violence. Sian Clifford, Taheen Modak, Mawaan Rizwan, Jason Flemyng, Sean Pertwee, and Thalissa Teixeir co-star.
The Mandalorian
Ahead of Friday’s premiere of the second season, the Disney+ streaming service has shared a special two-minute recap video looking back at the first season. The second season sees The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy. Showrunner Jon Favreau serves as executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson.
