Apple TV+
Apple TV+ is set to hike its price by 30% in the U.S. and select international markets – jumping from $9.99 a month to $12.99 per month States-side. The price rise kicks in today for new customers, existing customers will see it hitting within the next 30 days. Apple TV+ has been losing more than $1 billion annually as its spending on premium content.
Apple justifies the rise, saying it is pumping out high quality series and is doing so ad-free – the only major streaming service that does not offer a price-reduced ad-supported plan. Apple is set to launch Vince Gilligan’s “Pluribus,” new seasons of “The Morning Show” and “Slow Horses,” and films like “Highest 2 Lowest” and “The Lost Bus” all in the next three months.
