Emily VanCamp is departing FOX’s popular medical drama “The Resident” after four seasons as a series regular and the female lead.

Tom Swift
The CW has handed out a straight-to-series order for its “Nancy Drew” spinoff “Tom Swift”. Tian Richards plays a Black, gay billionaire inventor thrust into a world of sci-fi conspiracy and unexplained phenomena after the disappearance of his father.

Tom takes to the road on a quest to unravel the truth to stay one step ahead of an Illuminati-scale group hell-bent on stopping him. Producers Melinda Hsu Taylor, Noga Landau, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are all involved in the spinoff. [Source: THR]

Mayor of Kingstown
Kyle Chandler has joined Taylor Sheridan’s new series “Mayor of Kingstown” on the Paramount+ service. Series lead Jeremy Renner made the announcement on social media, Chandler is set to play Renner’s older brother in the series.

Dianne Wiest also stars in the series about a powerful family in the lucrative business of prisons. “Mayor of Kingstown” premieres on November 14th on Paramount+ with production underway in Toronto. [Source: Instagram]
