Barons
The CW has pulled the Australian surfing drama “Barons” from its primetime schedule after just four episodes after falling to audience of just 124,000 and a 0.0 demo rating.
Sean Keenan and Ben O’Toole as best friends and surfers who each create their own surf brand that will go on to become iconic rivals. All eight episodes will still be available to stream on the CW app and cwtv.com. [Source: TV Line]
Beast Boy
Warner Bros. Discovery used the Annecy International Animation Film Festival last week to announce a new animated series focused on the “Teen Titans Go!” character Beast Boy and his standalone adventures. Rhys Byfield (“Elliott From Earth”) will direct the ten shorts which will air on Cartoon Network at some time in the future. [Source: Variety]
The Witcher
Ahead of the third season premiere of Netflix’s fantasy epic “The Witcher,” a new behind-the-scenes featurette has been released showcasing stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey as they discuss what’s in store for the show’s third season.
The epic series centers around the solitary monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, powerful sorceress Yennefer, and young Cintrian princess Ciri as they learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together. The new run is split in two with the first part to release next week.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
Disney+ has confirmed the upcoming fourth season of the mockumentary musical teen drama “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” will be that show’s last. It begins its run on the service on August 9th.
The new run sees Ricky, Gina, and the rest of the Wildcats as they prepare for their final stage musical. It also teases the return of the original movie’s cast – including Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, and Lucas Grabeel.
The Chi
A teaser trailer has been released for the sixth season of Showtime’s “The Chi” which returns to the network on Sunday, August 6th. The upcoming season has been expanded to sixteen episodes with the run split in half. The second eight episodes have not yet set an airdate.
Zoey 102
The official trailer has been released for “Zoey 102,” the film sequel to the beloved “Zoey 101” series. The film focuses on Zoey Brooks (Jamie Lynn Spears) whose love life has been in arrested development after ending things with her former boyfriend, Chase Matthews (Sean Flynn).
To help her out, Brooks hires someone to pretend to be her boyfriend for the upcoming wedding of her best friend Quinn Pensky (Erin Sanders) and Logan Reese (Matthew Underwood). Christopher Massey, Abby Wilde, and Jack Salvatore also return for the film.
