Aquaman: The King of Atlantis
The first photo from HBO Max’s new DC animated three-part mini-series “Aquaman: King of Atlantis” has been released. Victor Courtright and Marly Halpern-Graser will serve as showrunners while James Wan will executive produce.
The series kicks off with Aquaman’s first day on the job as king of Atlantis – dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time, and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him. [Source: Twitter]
I Hate Suzie
Sky has renewed its Billie Piper-led comedy-drama “I Hate Suzie” from “Succession” writer Lucy Prebble and produced by Bad Wolf. The second season will begin filming next year.
The eight-part series followed a famous woman (Piper) whose life is upended when her phone is hacked and graphic pictures are published of her extra-marital affair. [Source: Twitter]
The Woman in the House
Tom Riley (“Da Vinci’s Demons”) is set to co-star with Kristen Bell in the limited series “The Woman in the House” for Netflix. Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson and Larry Dorf created the series and serve as co-showrunners.
Bell plays a heartbroken shut-in whose new handsome neighbour, a charming widower and dad (Riley), gives her hope. Then she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she? [Source: Deadline]
Prince Wawa
FOX has handed out a script commitment for the animated comedy series “Prince Wawa” which hails from comedians Tim Baltz and Lily Sullivan and “Cobra Kai” creators Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg.
The story centers around a naive merman prince, voiced by Baltz, who juggles life between the ocean, the only home he’s ever known, and his new life on land with his human mother in the breathtaking metropolis of Tampa, Florida. [Source: Deadline]
South Park
Comedy Central’s “South Park” is briefly returning with creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone announcing a stand-alone hour-long special titled “South ParQ The Vaccination Special” to premiere on March 10th.
In the synopsis, it says the citizens of South ParQ are clamouring for the COVID-19 vaccine. A hilarious new militant group tries to stop the boys from getting their teacher vaccinated. It remains unclear when the show will return to traditional weekly episodes.
