Kal Penn has joined the limited series “The Santa Clause” at Disney+ which sees Tim Allen once again as Santa Claus/Scott Calvin and Elizabeth Mitchell as his wife Carol Calvin,

Penn has been cast as Simon Choksi, an ambitious game inventor, product developer and devoted single father who visits the North Pole. Production on the series will begin in March. [Source: Variety]

Interview with the Vampire
Assad Zaman (“Hotel Portofino”) has joined the cast of AMC’s series adaptation of Anne Rice’s “Interview With The Vampire” novel series.

Zaman will play Rashid in the seven-episode first season set to premiere on AMC+ and AMC later this year. The series also stars Sam Reid as Lestat, Jacob Anderson as Louis and Bailey Bass as Claudia. [Source: Deadline]

Immigrant
Tony-nominated actor Robin De Jesus has joined the cast of the Hulu series “Immigrant” in a recurring role. Kumail Nanjiani, Dan Stevens, Murray Bartlett, Annaleigh Ashford, Quentin Plair, Andrew Rannells, and Nicola Peltz also star.

De Jesus will portray Ray Colon, a proud Bronx Nuyorican who comes on the Chippendales scene as the resident handyman. His reverence of Somen ‘Steve’ Banerjee (Nanjiani) however puts him in several compromising situations. [Source: Deadline]

Pitch Perfect
Jameela Jamil, Sarah Hyland, and Lera Abova have joined the cast of the “Pitch Perfect” series at Peacock. The trio joins previously announced series lead Adam Devine and cast member Flula Borg.

Jamil plays a rising German pop star, Hyland a slightly odd American P.A., and Abova a prominent Berlin DJ who is also Borg’s sister. Production will commence soon in Berlin. Megan Amram serves as executive producer and showrunner. [Source: Variety]

Cal Fire
Billy Burke and Kevin Alejandro have scored lead roles opposite Max Thieriot in the drama pilot “Cal Fire” at Jerry Bruckheimer Television and CBS Studios.

Thieriot plays a convict who joins a firefighting program that returns him to his small NoCal hometown working alongside other inmates. Burke will play lovable and pessimistic fire chief, Alejandro is a proud father and fire captain in charge of the inmates. [Source: Deadline]
