“Tron 3,” “Dragon,” “Winnie” Set Start Dates

Leto Hints Third Tron May Happen
Disney

Several high-profile projects have locked in start of production dates or windows, even with the ongoing writer’s strike.

First and most exciting is Production List (via Collider) indicating filming will begin on the third “TRON” film on July 3rd in Vancouver, Canada.

Jared Leto is attached to lead the cast of “TRON: Ares,” which Joachim Rønning is directing – taking over from “Top Gun: Maverick” helmer Joseph Kosinski who directed 2010’s “TRON: Legacy”.

Story details are under wraps but Jesse Wigatow penned the script, whilst Emma Ludbrook and Justin Springer are listed as producers. No word as such on how this will tie in with ‘Legacy’ story-wise.

The same site also lists that the live-action remake of “How to Train Your Dragon” will begin filming on June 30th in Los Angeles.

Dean DeBlois pens and directs the film that has already set a March 14th 2025 release and looks like it’s trying to give Universal/Dreamworks success in the live-action animated film remake arena Disney has dominated for the past decade.

Finally, THR reports that the sequel to “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” is scheduled to begin shooting in the Fall with story details kept under wraps. The production aims to include a substantially larger budget than its sub- $100,000 predecessor.
