Tribeca Film has scored the theatrical, VOD and select digital rights to Massy Tadjedin’s “Last Night” starring Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington reports Variety.
The pair play a married couple, apart for a night while the husband takes a business trip with a colleague (Eva Mendes) to whom he’s attracted. While he’s resisting temptation, his wife encounters her past love (Guillaume Canet).
The film was shot in late 2008 but became a victim of the Miramax ownership changeover which left it and several other films like “The Debt” and “The Tempest” sitting on a shelf for well over a year. ‘Night’ finally premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year.
A limited Spring theatrical release in major markets is planned, while Miramax retains home video, TV sales and long-term digital rights.
