NEON has released the official trailer and poster for “God’s Own Country” writer-director Francis Lee’s newest film – the period romantic drama “Ammonite”.
The lesbian romance story unfolds on the rugged Southern coastline of 1840s England. Saoirse Ronan stars as an acclaimed but unrecognised fossil hunter who these days is trying to support herself and her ailing mother.
A wealthy visitor entrusts her with the care of his wife (Kate Winslet) and while they initially clash, an intense bond begins to develop between the two despite the distance between their social class and personalities.
Fiona Shaw, Alec Secareanu and Gemma Jones also star in the film which opens November 13th and has its world premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
