Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie” – the latest effort from celebrated documentarian and director Davis Guggenheim (“An Inconvenient Truth,” “Waiting for Superman”).

The film recounts the actor’s story from the beginning as a child to when he found success in Hollywood in the 1980s to battling Parkinson’s disease after being diagnosed at 29.

It features clips from his many iconic films and footage from celebratory and significant moments throughout his personal life. There’s also photos and archival footage from interviews, sets and more.

Fox made it clear to Guggenheim he didn’t want to censor any of the film’s source material. One moment seen in the trailer has Fox recalling when he first discovered Parkinson’s disease symptoms.

After that, he tried to hide it even as he was still having success in the 1990s with films like “The Frighteners” and shows like “Spin City”. He says: “All those years of hiding was shaking me awake. To deny that part of me that wants to continue to go on and do things is to quit. This is what I am. I’m a tough son of a bitch.”

“Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie” premieres May 12th on Apple TV+.
