Following raves for 2015’s “Tangerine” and 2017’s “The Florida Project,” filmmaker Sean Baker is now finally back with his next work “Red Rocket”.
The film is said to offer a “darkly funny and humane” portrait of a washed up American porn star and hustler who winds up back in his Texas hometown that barely tolerates him. Will he be able to stay on the straight and narrow?
Former MTV VJ turned actor and rapper Simon Rex leads the cast which also includes Suzanna Son, Bree Elrod, Brenda Deiss, Ethan Darbone, Brittney Rodriguez, and Judy Hill.
The film premiered at the Cannes followed by Telluride, NYFF and others to critical acclaim. The film hits cinemas on December 3rd.
