Netflix has premiered the first trailer for its new comedy “The Chair” which hails from writer and showrunner Amanda Peet along with “Game of Thrones” producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
The six-episode half-hour series centers on the trials of Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim (“Killing Eve” alum Sandra Oh) as she navigates her first year as the chair of Pembroke University’s English department.
Coming into the position as the first woman to hold the role, she is also one of the few staff members of color at the school. Jay Duplass, Holland Taylor, Bob Balaban, Nana Mensah, David Morse and Everly Carganilla also star.
“The Chair” debuts on Netflix on August 20th.
