Netflix has released the official trailer for the documentary feature “Sr.” which offers a portrait of Robert Downey Sr.’s life and career as a maverick independent filmmaker and a father.
Chris Smith (“Fyre,” “Operation Varsity Blues”) directs, and Robert Downey Jr. produces the film, which had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival.
The film explores Downey Sr.’s life and work, such as “Putney Swope,” as well as themes including mortality and healing generational dysfunction. He died a year ago at age 85.
Netflix and Downey Jr.’s production company Team Downey previously collaborated on the fantasy series “Sweet Tooth” which has a second season on the way.
“Sr.” will be available to stream on December 2nd.
