Saban Films has released the trailer for its Simon Pegg and Minnie Driver-led dark comedy “Nandor Fodor and The Talking Mongoose” opening in U.S. cinemas on September 1st.
Pegg stars as Dr. Nandor Fodor, the real-life, famed Hungarian-American psychoanalyst, author, journalist and leading authority on paranormal phenomena in the 1930s.
Fodor advanced the theory that hauntings could be the result of past unresolved mental tensions. He also pursued ‘Gef,’ an allegedly talking mongoose that inhabited a family’s home on the Isle of Man and attracted many ghost hunters.
The synopsis of the film has Fodor investigating a family’s claims of a talking animal. He “uncovers a mysterious web of hidden motives. Soon, everyone becomes a suspect in Dr. Fodor’s relentless pursuit of the truth.”
Driver plays Fodor’s assistant while Christopher Lloyd plays Dr. Price, an esteemed psychic researcher and author who is also investigating Gef.
Tim Downie, Ruth Connell, Paul Kaye, Gary Beadle, Drew Moerlein, Jessica Balmer and Edmund Kingsley co-star whilst Neil Gaiman is the voice of Gef.
Adam Sigal (“Chariot”) pens and directs the film. Sasha Yelaun, Dominic Burns, Karl Hall and Matt Willians are producing, with Clare Bateman-King as an associate producer.
