Focus Features

Focus Features has premiered the official trailer for “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3,” which sees star and writer Nia Vardalos return and also taking on directing duties this time.

The new film sees the Portokalos family as they travel to a family reunion in Greece for a heartwarming and hilarious trip full of love, twists and turns – not to mention a wedding and plenty of celebration over Toula’s late father Gus.

Joining Vardalos in front of the camera are her former and returning co-stars John Corbett, Louis Mandylor, Elena Kampouris, Maria Vacratsis, Andrea Martin, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone and Lainie Kazan.

New faces Elias Kacavas and Melina Kotselou also join in on the fun whilst the film will pay tribute to actor Michael Constantine who played Gus and who died in 2021.

The original film premiered in 2002 and became the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time, earning a total of $368 million worldwide along with positive reviews. The first sequel arrived in 2016 to poor reviews and just $90 million in box-office.

Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Gary Goetzman have returned to produce the third film which opens in cinemas worldwide on September 8th.
