The first trailer has been released for the Michael B. Jordan-led and Denzel Washington-directed romantic drama “A Journal for Jordan” which opens in cinemas at Christmas.
Based on the memoir by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dana Canedy, the film follows the real-life story of First Sergeant Charles Monroe King (Jordan) who writes letters to his newborn son while he is overseas.
King was killed in Iraq in 2006, when his son was just seven months old, but his wife Canedy (Chante Adams) keeps all the poignant letters in a book for their son.
Oscar-nominated screenwriter Virgil Williams (“Mudbound”) adapted the script while Jordan, Washington, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch produce.
