A24 has released the trailer for their first ever film musical titled “Dicks: The Musical”.
The trippy R-rated comedy stars Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp as businessmen and long-lost twins who have a plan to trick their separated parents (Nathan Lane and Megan Mullally) into getting back together.
The film co-stars SNL alum Bowen Yang as God, while rapper Megan Thee Stallion will play the twins’ boss in her film debut (she previously guest starred on shows like “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”).
Sharp and Jackson optioned the film from their original stage musical and screenplay titled “F—ing Identical Twins” – a two-man show in Manhattan back in 2014.
The pair reprise the same roles for this on-screen version which features original songs by Sharp, Jackson and composer Karl Saint Lucy. Larry Charles (“Borat”) helms the film.
The film is set to have its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and will play in the event’s Midnight Madness section ahead of its theatrical release on September 29th.
