Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for “I Am Groot,” an upcoming animated short series that will follow the character from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.
The series will consist of five shorts tracking Baby Groot as he grows up in the universe and his various misadventures along the way. All five shorts are scheduled to drop on Disney+ on August 10th.
Vin Diesel will reportedly reprise his voice acting role for all the episodes. James Gunn serves as an executive producer on the shorts with Kirsten Lepore helming them and Ryan Little writing.
Episodes are reportedly being rendered in a photorealistic animation style akin to Pixar Studios. A second batch of five episodes is in the works.
