Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for the second season of its “I Am Groot” series of animated short films.
The first season consisted of five short films, each running 5-6 minutes, and was released in full on August 10th last year.
Kirsten Lepore wrote and directed all five shorts which followed Baby Groot as he grows up in the galaxy, heading out on adventures and meeting unusual characters along the way.
Vin Diesel reprised his voice role of Groot whilst Bradley Cooper also appeared as Rocket Raccoon, James Gunn as a wrist watch, and Trevor Devall as Iwua.
The second season will follow the same pattern – five shorts of around the same length, all penned and directed by Lepore again.
It won’t give us ‘jock Groot’ seen in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” but rather the Baby Groot from the second film and previous shorts.
The trailer teases the inclusion of The Watcher from “What If?” along with gags involving galactic sweets, an ice planet, and making a bird friend.
All five new episodes of “I Am Groot” hit the Disney+ service on September 6th.
