The first trailer has hit for SpectreVision’s “Archenemy,” the gritty grounded superhero feature starring Joe Manganiello and helmed by writer-director Adam Egypt Mortimer coming off raves for his psychological thriller “Daniel Isn’t Real” last year.
In the film Manganiello is Max Fist, a man who claims he is a hero from another dimension who has somehow landed on Earth and been stripped of his powers.
Trouble is no-one believes him bar two teenagers (Skylan Brooks, Zolee Griggs) that convince Max to help them take out a local drug gang. Max’s abilities are put to a violent and harrowing test.
Amy Seimetz and Glenn Howerton co-star in the film which Manganiello and his brother Nick also produced along with Kim Sherman and Mortimer. The project is targeting a 2021 debut.
