Netflix has premiered the official trailer for Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut “The Lost Daughter” based on Elena Ferrante’s 2006 novel.
Olivia Colman plays a woman trying to enjoy a beach vacation when her peace and quiet get disturbed with the loud arrival of a family with a young mother (Dakota Johnson).
She now finds herself obsessed with the younger woman which leads her to recall secrets from her past. Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard, Paul Mescal, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ed Harris and Dagmara Dominczyk co-star.
The film is currently scheduled to arrive in select theaters on December 17th followed by a streaming debut on December 31st.
