A24 has premiered the official trailer for celebrated “Certain Women” and “Meek’s Cutoff” indie filmmaker Kelly Reichardt’s next feature “Showing Up”.
Reichardt’s good luck charm Michelle Williams returns to work with her and is joined by Hong Chau, Maryann Plunkett, John Magaro, André Benjamin, James Le Gros, and Judd Hirsch.
Reichardt and Jon Raymond co-wrote the script which offers a portrait of a Portland sculptor’s daily work and frustrations as she struggles to put the finishing touches on her latest pieces for a gallery show.
At the same time, she’s juggling admin work at a local art school, dealing with the neglect of her well-meaning landlord, and tending to the emotional well-being of her increasingly fragmented family.
The film had its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and is expected to arrive in cinemas in Spring 2023. Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani, and Vincent Savino produce.
