The first trailer has been released for the Liam Neeson-led Irish crime-thriller “In The Land Of Saints And Sinners” which premieres today at the Venice Film Festival.
This isn’t your usual Neeson-led action film. Shot in County Donegal, Ireland, the film also stars Oscar nominees Ciaran Hinds and Kerry Condon, along with acting veteran Colm Meaney and former “Game of Thrones” alum Jack Gleeson.
The story unfolds in a remote Irish village where a newly retired assassin finds himself drawn into a lethal game of cat and mouse with a trio of vengeful terrorists.
The trailer paints a serious, more political and more wistful tone than your usual Neeson action film as it explores the obvious consequences of his character’s past actions.
It also looks like a fiery performance from Condon who is one of the people out for Neeson’s blood.
Mark Michael McNally and Terry Loane penned the script whilst “The Marksman” director Robert Lorenz helms. Samuel Goldwyn will open the film theatrically in the Fall.
