Netflix has premiered the first trailer for “Concrete Cowboy,” the North Philadelphia-set coming of age drama starring Idris Elba.
Caleb McLaughlin stars as Cole, a troubled Detroit teenager sent to Philadelphia to live with his estranged father (Elba) for the summer and stumbles upon the cowboy lifestyle.
After Cole runs into an old childhood friend who’s fallen into street life, the young man must decide between two different kinds of loyalty and masculinity.
Jharrel Jerome, Lorraine Toussaint, Byron Bowers, and Method Man co-star in the film hailing from director Ricky Staub who adapted the script from Greg Neri’s “Ghetto Cowboy” novel. Elba produces the film which arrives on the service on April 2nd.
