Netflix has released the first trailer for the steamy thriller “Fair Play,” which they acquired for a whopping $20 million at this year’s Sundance Film Festival following an intense bidding war.
Alden Ehrenreich (“Oppenheimer,” “Solo: A Star Wars Story”) and Phoebe Dynevor (“Bridgerton,” “Younger”) star in the film, which marks filmmaker Chloe Domont’s debut feature following her work on shows like “Billions” and “Ballers”
When a coveted promotion at a cutthroat financial firm arises, once supportive exchanges between lovers Emily (Dynevor) and Luke (Ehrenreich) begin to sour into something more sinister.
As the power dynamics irrevocably shift in their relationship, the couple must face the true price of success and the unnerving limits of ambition.
Eddie Marsan, Rich Sommer and Sebastian De Souza co-star in the film, which is set in contemporary times and is said to deal with a post-#MeToo world with all its complex interpersonal dynamics.
Leopold Hughes, Ben LeClair, Tim White, Trevor White, and Allan Mandelbaum produce the film, which gets a theatrical release in select locations on September 29th, followed by a streaming debut on October 13th.
