Netflix has premiered the first trailer for its new crime thriller feature “Reptile” starring Benicio del Toro, Justin Timberlake and Alicia Silverstone.
In the film, the brutal murder of a young real estate agent, leads to a hardened new England detective attempting to uncover the truth in a case where nothing is as it seems. The victim’s boyfriend, friend, ex-husband and a stalker are among the possible suspects.
His investigations soon start to dismantle the illusions in his own life. Eric Bogosian, Domenick Lombardozzi, Frances Fisher, Ato Essandoh, Michael Carmen Pitt, Karl Glusman, and Matilda Lutz co-star.
Veteran music video director Grant Singer makes his directorial debut from a script he co-wrote with Benjamin Brewer and Benicio del Toro from a story by Grant Singer & Benjamin Brewer. Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, and Thad Luckinbill produce.
The film, which was shot two years ago in Atlanta, will premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film next month and then score a release in select theaters on September 29th before hitting the streamer on October 6th.
It joins Netflix’s busy film release schedule which recently included “They Cloned Tyrone,” “The Monkey King” and “Heart of Stone” and has “You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah” opening this week.
