Vertical has shared a teaser trailer for Zak Hilditch’s post-apocalyptic thriller “We Bury the Dead” starring Daisy Ridley, Brenton Thwaites (“Titans”), Mark Coles Smith (“Mystery Road: Origin”), Matt Whelan (“Narcos”) and Chloe Hurst (“Scarlett”).
In the film, a catastrophic American military experiment results in mass casualties across the Australian island of Tasmania.
Ava (Ridley) joins a body retrieval unit to help identify the dead and search for her husband in the southern part of the island.
Making her way south, across the ravaged landscape, she soon learns that some of the victims of the disaster are coming back to life and thus begins a fight for survival.
Hilditch directed the acclaimed end of the world drama “These Final Hours” and the Stephen King adaptation “1922,” both of which put the emphasis on the human cost within the darkest of times.
“We Bury the Dead” opens in cinemas January 2nd 2026.
