Trailer: Bong Joon Ho’s “Memories of Murder”

“Parasite” may have won the Best Picture Oscar, but there’s a large contingent of fans out there who consider director Bong Joon Ho’s finest work to date to be 2003’s true story-inspired crime thriller “Memories of Murder”.

Today, NEON has released a trailer for the upcoming remastered re-release of the film in cinemas on October 19th & 20th ahead of being a disc release for the Criterion Collection later in the year. The screenings will also include additional content such as a Q&A session between Edgar Wright and Bong Joon Ho.

The feature tells the harrowing true story of the hunt for a sadistic serial rapist and murderer terrorizing a small province in 1980s South Korea. Three increasingly desperate detectives attempt to decipher the violent mind of a killer in a futile effort to solve the case.

The real life case was in the news last year when the real culprit was finally identified, but at the time of the film’s release the identity of the killer was unknown. Song Kang Ho and Kim Sang-kyung star in the film.
