Trailer: “Being Eddie” Murphy Documentary

Netflix

Netflix has premiered the official trailer for “Being Eddie,” a new feature documentary about how actor/comedian Eddie Murphy hit success at a young age and ended up impacting world culture.

At 17, he was already performing stand-up in New York clubs, and a year later joined “Saturday Night Live” straight out of high school. At one time, he had a hit movie, song and comedy special all out at once.

As he says in the doco, “My stuff took off because they’d never seen a young Black person take charge”.

From “Beverly Hills Cop” to “The Nutty Professor” to Donkey in “Shrek,” Murphy has done it all. Now, for the first time, Murphy opens his home to the outside world to discuss his career and why he does what he does.

Comedians, actors and producers like Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx, Tracee Ellis Ross, Arsenio Hall, Tracy Morgan, John Landis, Ruth Carter, Kenan Thompson, Kevin Hart, Jerry Seinfeld, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Brian Grazer all participate in the film which was directed by two-time Oscar winner Angus Wall (“The Greatest Night in Pop”).

“Being Eddie” comes to Netflix on November 12th.
