Apple TV+ has premiered the trailer for their darkly comedic feminist fables anthology series “Roar” which premieres all eight episodes on the service on April 15th.
Ranging from fantasy to horror, the anthology uses the absurdity of each story to reflect on the obstacles women face when trying to find their place in the world. One follows a woman who eats photographs, one is a woman literally kept on a shelf by her companion, one is a ghost solving her own murder, and one is a woman who falls in love with a duck.
Based on a book of short stories by Cecelia Ahern and showrun by Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive, the series stars a pretty smashing cast. Episodes will include Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo, Issa Rae, Merritt Wever, Nick Kroll, Judy Davis, Alfred Molina, Daniel Dae Kim, Jake Johnson, Peter Facinelli, Simon Baker, Hugh Dancy, Jillian Bell, Justin Kirk, Jason Mantzoukas and a trio of “GLOW” alum – Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Chris Lowell.
