Disney released the first brief teaser trailers for both “The Devil Wears Prada 2” and “Toy Story 5” this week, with both scoring massive launch numbers.
To say anticipation for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is high would be an understatement. That clip pulled in 185 million views in its first day, making it the second most viewed trailer this year behind only “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” at 202 million.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” also became the most-viewed trailer year-to-date on Instagram with 79 million views, and pulled in a further 60 million views on TikTok. Reaction to the clip was very positive.
Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” trailer was also a major hit – pulling in 142 million views in its first 24 hours, with 47 million on Instagram and 37 million on TikTok. Similarly sentiment towards the clips ran high.
It has been a busy time for trailer launches with “Michael” pulling in 112 million views in its first 24 hours last week. Numbers for “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” teaser have not been revealed as yet.
More high-profile trailers are expected in the next few weeks with “The Odyssey” and “Masters of the Universe” expected to get teasers, and possibly the live-action “Moana” film.
